The study area is located in the south margin of eastern end of the Altai Mountains in northern xinjiang region,belonging to the Erzius Metallogenic Belt and is an important component of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt.This area has frequent tectonic activity and is rich in mineral resources.The strata of this area belong to the East Junggar partition,emergence stratum mainly are of Devonian and Carboniferous.The faults are developed in this area,and their directions are mainly NW to SE,and then nearly EW and NNW.The amount of magmatite is also numerous,is a natural laboratory for the study of geotectonics and deep activities of earth and a potential zone for ore prospecting.This article mainly discusses the magmatic property and geological significance of Kekebieketi basic rock mass by the study on its lithology,petrology,mineralogy,lithogeochemistry and geochronology.And the mineralization conditions of Kekebieketi basic rock mass are also studied,in combination with geophysical-geochemical data to summarize its metallogenetic potentiality.The major lithological types of Kekebieketi basic rock mass are pyroxenite,amphibole pyroxenite,bojite,allalinite,contaminated diabase and so on.The mainly ore rock are pyroxenite and gabbro.Weighted average 207 Pb/ 206 Pb ages of 321±2.5Ma have been obtained for the bojite in study area,belonging to the late Early Carboniferous to early Late Carboniferous,within the Hercynian orogeny.The total rare earth element of Kekebieketi basic rock mass is not high,showing light RRE enriched patterns.The basic rock mass are rich in LILE,and deplete in HFSE and Nb,Ta.These characteristics may cause by the interfusion of mantle wedge that has been transformed by fluid in mantle source region.The parental magma of Kekebieketi basic rock mass is tholeiite magma that has high MgO content or calcium basaltic magma.There are many Cu Ni mineralization rocks that found in Kekebieketi basic rock mass.The basic rock mass is wholly affected by different degrees of alterations,which mainly are chloritization,epidotization,amphibolization and so on.The mineralized bodies are generally occurring as lens,and mineralization are mainly malachite mineralization and strong limonitization,locally reached the industrial grade.There are mainly chalcopyrite,pyrite,chalcocite,tetrahedrite etc.including in ore rock,generally sparsely distribute as star or dot shape,raindrops shape,also appears as spiderweb shape or film shape within the rock fracture or slate in contact zones.The metallogenic characteristics of Kekebieketi show that there are two main metallogenic types: magmatic liquation type mineralization and postmagmatic hydrothermal solutions mineralization.The Kekebieketi basic rock mass provides material and sources for the mineralization.The Kekebieketi basic rock mass and its surroundings show good abnormal by the geophysical and geochemical exploration work no matter for the region or for the Kekebieket mining area.The basic rock outcrop area has high gravity and high magnetic overall characteristic,and its corresponding rock mass positions are all showing good geochemical anomalies.The study area has certain potential of mineralization.
