With the rapid development of manufacturing industry, the dual-spindle turningcenter is widely used in the machining of plate cover, short axis work pieces. Themachine can complete the whole process from the blank to the finished product on thepremise of one clamping, and it provides turning, milling, drilling, boring and othermachining performance. However, the processing performance of dual-spindleturning center has not been fully utilized, the main reason is that the key technologyof the composite processing technology of the machine, the post processingtechnology and the virtual simulation technology is still in the exploring period.This paper takes TNR-200YS dual-spindle turning center as the research object,planning the reasonable machining process of a typical part in view of the machiningperformance and the motion characteristics of the axis, and optimizing the processingtechnology to obtain the best APT flies; customizing the special code and compilingthe macros of the special function, developing the post processor used forTNR-200YS dual-spindle turning center based on IMSpost general post processingsoftware; defining the instruction code format and configuration macro instruction inVERICUT software in the view of the control system of the machine, constructing thevirtual simulation platform of TNR-200YS dual-spindle turning center. Forming theprocessing technology research plan of "processing technology?APT files?postprocessing?NC programs?virtual machining" as a whole of dual-spindle turningcenter of high efficiency and quality.The practical verification shows: the processing technology research plan of"processing technology?APT files?post processing?NC programs?virtual machining" as a whole in the view of the dual-spindle turning center, not only canconvert APT files to complex NC programs accurately and exclude the collision andover travel problems appears possibly in the machine machining process, but also canshorten the development cycle of new products greatly, solve the inadequate ofdual-spindle turning center in application, improve the machining efficiency andquality, it has important theoretical significance and application value to solve thehigh efficiency machining of dual-spindle turning center.
