With the development of hot rolling technology, and the human's demands of width control precision of rolled strip continue improving. As the intermediate links between continual cast and thermal rolling, the technology of width adjustment and control plays an important role in rolling line. As the main width control technology, SP expands width specifications of production in the premise of not changing the width of the continuous casting billet.It also works on reducing the equipment investment and saving money and energy.Firstly, this thesis has reviewed the literature at home and abroad and does a comprehensive review of the current situation about the slab sizing technology. According to the rationale of SP in 1580mm hot rolling line of Jingtang, the slab sizing pressing finite element model was established using large commercial finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA at last base on rationale of elastic-plastic FEM simulation. The main work and research results are as follows:(1) According to working process of SP, a large number of coupled thermal mechanical simulation were carried out by using software ANSYS/LS-DYNA.The simulated data was comparide with the actual measured data,and the result testified the established model of SP had high reliability.(2) the influence of several effective factors on the dog bone height peak of the slab section and rolling force were anlysized. It finds that pressing amount,module angle, slab thickness and the initial temperature of the slab are proportional to the dog bone height of the plate section, while slab width and material yield stress work in the opposite direction. It also finds that pressing amount, slab thickness, the material yield stress,slab width,feed amount are proportional to maximal rolling forces, while module angle and initial temperature of the slab worked in the opposite direction(3) The temperature field in deformed area was anslyzed,which has found that the temperature of slab edge is the lowest, while the temperature slab core is highes?It also finds that temperature drop edge of the slab is greater than in the head nd the decrease in temperature drop with the increase of pressing amount.(4)The vertical rolling was simulated and compared with the SP simulation to find the advantages and disadvantages of them more intuitively.(5) The head straitening of the slab and the influence of several effective factors on the straitening of the slab were analyzed. The SSC technology of SP was also was simulated and analyzed,which has found that the SSC technology of SP can reduce the head straitening of the slab effectively and reduce the losing and improve productivity.
