Drum shearer is mainly mechanized coal mining equipment on comprehensive mining face, it has the characteristics of high production, high efficiency and strong adaptability. Because of the complexity and strong non-structure of the coal bed geological environment, it led's to the bad working conditions and working load complexity of drum shearer. The cutting department, namely the running reliability of the screw drum, Cutting performance and the mining efficiency is directly related to the economic interests. On comprehensive mining face, coal mining process except the linear cutting process, there are still some oblique cutting feed. Under the condition of guarantying not reduce linear cutting efficiency, improving the oblique cutting feed load condition, it has great significance to reduce the mining cost. Therefore, this paper combined the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, analyzed the load characteristics of drum shearer during linear cutting and oblique cutting feed.Based on the coal cutting theory, chosen double drum shearers front screw drum as the research object, adopted the method of classical mechanics, analyzed the mechanics model of pick cutting teeth and drum during linear cutting and oblique cutting feed. Researches show that drum of axial force and propulsion there could be an oblique increment.The paper analyzed the explicit dynamic simulation of drum cutting coal and rock during linear cutting and oblique cutting feed with ANSYS/DYNA, and used the simulation load data to analyze the relations of cutting load, drum cutting torque, drum stress with circumferential tangential installation angle, intercept and drum motion parameters when oblique cutting feed.The paper considered drum maximum stress minimum and cutting energy cost minimum as objective under two conditions, optimized the drum installation angle and the intercept parameter, for comprehensive mining face under a variety of processes, provided a way to improve drum cutting performance.
