This paper was depended on the National Natural Science Foundation of China “The automatic detection method and experimental study of hydrogen content in magnesium melt based on real-time image processing”(51374007) and relied on hydrogen content detection theory rooted from the first gas bubble. Motive properties of hydrogen gas bubble evolution in magnesium alloy melting were studied by mathematical modeling. And the effect of process parameters on dynamics of hydrogen gas bubble evolution was analysed. What's more, a machine vision detection platform based on DM642 was developed, which laid the foundation of the real-time detection of hydrogen content in magnesium melt on industrial scene in the later. Besides, it is more significant for the melt quality control of magnesium alloy.In this paper, nucleation motion of hydrogen gas bubble was studied. A kinetic model of hydrogen gas bubble evolution was deduced with Newton second law, the gas state equation and the nature of stream function. Meanwhile, Matlab was used to program and emulate, which made some properties of hydrogen gas bubble evolution got. Furthermore,FLUENT, a fluid simulation software, was used for dynamic simulation of two-phase flow of magnesium melt and hydrogen gas bubble. As a result, not only the motive statement of hydrogen gas bubble evolution was seen, but the bubble change was also analysed.However, when hydrogen content detection of magnesium melt was carried out on industrial fields, real-time property should be considered on. So, a machine vision detection platform based on DM642 was developed. It was consisted of image input module, image processing module and image output module. The resource and advantages of DM642 in image processing were introduced. A successed algorithm of the weak and small bubble detection in magnesium melt was programmed by C language. The program was debugged, optimized and transplanted by CCS3.3. Then, it was processed in fast cache in VPM642. Experimental result showed that the machine vision detection platform based on DM642 could be used for detecting weak and small bubble in magnesium melt.The application of DSP in detection of weak and small bubble in magnesium melt has a great boost to the real-time detection on industrial scene. It overcomes the engineering technical problem that Matlab does not use to detect on industrial scene. And, it also offers to a new method for the detection of hydrogen content in magnesium melt with the advantages of real-time, accuracy and high-efficiency,which lays the foundation of being real-time detecting hydrogen content in magnesium melt on the industrial scene with DSP.
