At present, the stepped shaft part is applied to industry, such as the machinery, aviation, navigation extensively. Its material, the quality of surface and comprehensive mechanical performance are expected very much. The intensity of the stepped shaft part exerts a tremendous influence to the machine life-span of whole. Its quality influences on itself performance of work and service life of the machine directly. However, besides adopting the cross wedge rolling in a few parts, the machining of this kind of part is still adopted traditional machining by cutting at present. To adopt the traditional method has many disadvantages, such as low material utilization ratio, heavy consumption of energy, low productivity, high cost and high intensity of labor, and so on.The article adopts the machining method, which a pulling force is applied to rolling the shaft part at room temperature. The method overcomes most disadvantages, such as preheating the workpiece, low material utilization ratio, great energy consumption and low productivity in other methods. The method makes high-speed process validly the stepped shaft part to become possible at room temperature. The article utilizes the method of numerical simulation, adopts large-scale finite element software ADINA to research the processing course of rolling with two plasticity material models. In the simulation of finite element, the paper analyses and researches the craft parameters, such as the pulling force and the feed level of rolling emphatically. Using the post processor of finite element software ADINA, the paper analyses the change of stress of the stepped shaft part in the rolling process. And it lays the theoretical foundation for the determination of craft parameter in experimentation and production.Comparing and analyzing the experimental result and finite element simulation result, the paper has obtained some important theoretical foundations and...
