This paper is an engineering design plan for the refuse sanitary landfill site in Pingliang county,The landfill site lies in a canyon.It is a Ⅳ level scaled landfill.The natural volume of the site is 1260000 m~3,whicn can hold 1020000 tons of municipal solid wastes,The designed service life is 20 years,and the practical service life is 21 years.The engineering design mainly include: layout of sanitary landfill site,landfilling process,the liner systems,leachate collection and treatment systems,landfill gas control system,ground water and surface water managenent,final cover system design,environmental monitoring,office area design and green design.Among them,sanitary landfilling process is described.SBR process was used to treat the leachate The leachate effluent reach the national leachate discharge standards of Class Ⅲ of Standard for pollution control on the landfill site for domestic waste.After treatment,leachate is discharged into the municipal sewage pipe networks.Horizontal artificial liners is disigned to prevent ground water pollution.The rain drainage ditches are installed around the landfill site to divert surface water runoff.Revegetation of the closed landfill site is planed to improve the environment after landfill closure.
