Top and bottom blowing converter steelmaking process is the most commom method of steel making in the world, it is an steel making process that based on the comprehensive advantage of the BOF&Bottom blowing converter steelmaking and overcome the drawbacks. According to the principle of similarity, this experiment study was 1:7 on the converter model, through water simulation experiment this experiment studies the basic gas flow rate and bottom blowing gas flow, height of top gun and bottom blowing arrangement for blending time and impact depth of the liquid in the molten pool, the conclusions are below:(1) Among the operation parameters of this experiment, top blowing gas flow had the greatest influence on the mixing time of the liquid in the molten pool,followed by the bottom blowing gas flow rate, bottom blowing arrangement, the height of the top gun.(2) Other technical parameter is invariable, the larger the top blowing gas flow rate is, the shorter the mixing time of the liquid in the molten pool is, and the better the mixing effect is. The impact of bottom blowing gas flow rate and top gun height on the mixing time has a critical value. When the height of the top guns and bottom blowing gas flow rate is moderate, the mixing time of the liquid in the molten pool is the shortest. When the bottom blowing component uses a 6-hole asymmetric arrangement, the mixing time of the liquid in the molten pool is the shortest and the mixing effect. is the best.(3) In this experiment of the mixing time, the best top blowing gas flow rate is98.2 Nm3/h(prototype has a value of 32000 Nm3/h), the best bottom gas blowing gas flow rate is 2.12 Nm3/h(prototype has a value of 710 Nm3/h), the best way to bottom blowing arrangement is 6-hole asymmetric structure, the best top gun height is 243mm(prototype value is 1700 mm). The experimental results show that when selecting the best blowing parameters, the mixing time of the liquid in the molten pool is 22 s,and the mixing effect is the best.(4) The top blowing gas flow and the height of the top guns have an obvious influence on impact depth of the liquid in the molten pool, while the bottom blowing arrangement and the bottom blowing flow rate has little effect on the impact depth.When the top blowing gas flow rate is too large, it’s better to choose an higher top gun height.
