The coal dust is one of the main hazards in the production process,not only threaten the safety of underground workplaces, but also affect the health of workers.In processes of production, almost all operational areas may produce dust, especially with the level of mechanization of mining improving in recent years.Therefore, the maximum reduction of dust concentration is the key work of preventing dust hazards.The paper analyze the production mechanism and the migration rules of dust in comprehensive mechanized heading face, on this basis, developes a air curtion device of dust separation and collection, and analyzes the design principles and the theory. In order to study the effect of dust prevention of air curtion in comprehensive mechanized heading face, using the numerical simulation software of FLUENT to study the movement of wind and dust. Through the comparison of air curtion system and far-pressing-nearing-absorption system, it is concluded that the effect of air curtain system to control the dust concentration is better. In addition, to study the optimal parameters of air curtion system of dust separation and collection, Keeping the duct diameter and air curtain size are invariable, and changeing the inlet velocity of plenum duct and outlet negative pressure of exhaust duct, then analyze flow field, dust track and the concentration change. The simulation results shown that: in condition of keeping the same negative pressure of exhaust duct and enlarging the inlet velocity of plenum duct, or keeping the same inlet velocity of plenum duct and increasing the outlet pressure of exhaust duct, air curtains systems can make the effect of dust collection better within a certain scope, control of dust moving to the driver effectively. However, if more than a certain amount of scope, not only cannot control dust effectively, but it will allow that dust spread to the driver side of the tunnel.The studies of air curtain technology has played a certain role in the prevention of dust hazards, and the air curtain technology has a good application prospect and social value.
