Because of the complex shape, heavy workload, long production cycle and other reasons, the traditional manual welding process has been unable to fulfill stringent requirements of furnace burner. Due to the actual needs in the welding process, we explored the realization of automatic welding. Aiming at the problems existing in the manual welding process of burners, we analyzed the defects in the welding process and studied the relationship between the welding parameters and the welding quality. According to the stainless steel welding technology and the welding requirements, we achieve the welding automation by using welding manipulator. And then we adopted programmable controller to realize manipulator automation. It greatly reduces the difficulty of the operation and improves the quality of the welding.Firstly, the description of welding automation was introduced and the solution of the problems in the process of automatic welding were summarized.Secondly, in order to obtain the optimal process parameters of welding burner, the optimum parameters of martensitic stainless steel spot welding was obtained by using the orthogonal experimental method. The result were applied to the burner automatic welding.Thirdly, the welding process of the burner assembly and the structure of the burner assembly were deeply analyzed. And then the position of the burner in the welding process was determined. After that the program of automatic spot welding manipulator was planned and the structure of each part of the manipulator was designed. So we were abled to determine the standard part and its model. According to the characteristics of each part of the spot welding manipulator, the power source was selected and the equipment was completed.Fourthly, based on the mechanical design of the spot welding manipulator, the spot welding manipulator control system was designed. Spot welding manipulator control system design includes the system's electrical control circuit design and system control program design. The main electrical control circuit design process of the system was to link the electrical components in accordance with the principles of electrical wire. Control program design process was to achieve by spot welding manipulator programming welding operation.Finally, the manipulator was debugged and optimized to achieve precision spot welding.
