Due to the complex geological conditions in our country, the coal mines are faced with various dangers; especially the coal mines fire & explosion accidents happened with high frequency, resulting in big economic loss and most casualties. To reduce the bad social and mine influence caused by explosion accidents, related departments should tackle the root of problems, which is the related factors. However, some problems exist, for example, what the extent of the hazard source is to the mine accident, which factor is the biggest one, and what influence factors should be paid much more attention. Access to all of these information depends on the analysis and evaluation of the related factors.Firstly, we need to analyze the underground work system in the coal mine type by type according to the safety characteristic, selecting the high-frequency fire & explosion accidents to make qualitative analysis in order to find the cause of the accident related factors. If the coal mine production would like to reach a safe level, it is required to control workers' working hours, age, level of education and other human factors, such as the incidence of “three violations”, reasonably organized and efficient management. Secondly,we can use the gray association to analyze the fire & explosion accident in coal mine, and we can get the degree of association to each factor, selecting high correlation factors of evaluation index, then, we can choose 98 percent to build the security evaluation model which is based on improved genetic algorithm of BP neural network. The connection degrees were calculated by using the set pair analysis to assess safety degrees of the hazards in eight coal mine, and set up implementation model algorithm through matlab. Finally, we can determine the evaluation standard of comparison according to the evaluation results and combined with set pair analysis based on learning the evaluation model, concluding that the vulnerable part is the human and environment factors, which should be taken to adjust the proportion of technical personnel, to prevent spontaneous combustion of coal seam and other measures, to ensure the safety of coal mine production. The conclusion and the present situation of the mine evaluation conclusions are basically identical.This paper is aimed at the characteristics of coal mine safety production, combined with grey correlation analysis and the improved neural network method to analyze and evaluate the fire & explosion accident hazards of coal mine. All the research results can beused to eliminate the potential safety hazard to coal mine, to strengthen the daily management, also, it can be reference for related staff to make macro-control depending on the study of the mine's safety status.
