This paper firstly discusses the hazard theory, identification method, relativism of safety assessment and general program of assessment on coalmine. Based on analyzing hazard and identification method, we demonstrates the construct of hazard system on gas explosion of heading face and analyzes comprehensively the hazard factor on gas explosion of heading face by FTA and from four factors of man-machine-environment-management. On the basis of adhering to principle of safety assessment, the paper sets up hazard safety assessment index that is full represent major influencing factors of three-class of hazard. Grey connection degree method is applied separative to relative risk assessment of the example of three class of hazard on gas explosion of heading face, reaches assessment of unitary factor index and standard alignment, and offers the basis of theory for getting unsafe factor. We utilize safety assessment method of grey cluster to assess concrete heading face. Assessment result is regarded as train sample of BP neural network. According to theory of BP neural network and feature of hazard of gas explosion of heading face, we design safety assessment procedure of BP neural network on three-class hazard of heading face gas explosion. Grade of comprehensive safety assessment is reached through safety assessment of three-class hazard on heading face gas explosion on the basis of the procedure. Safety assessment method of BP neural network refrains shortcoming of artificial decision weight from traditional safety assessment, reaches statistic and dynamic safety assessment, and draws a quick assessment result. Finally, gas (emission) that is the first hazard of gas explosion heading face and carrying energy is forecasted accurately. The prediction result meets requisition and offers reference and principle for avoiding methane accumulation on the spot.
