With the development of the electrified high-speed railway, more higher requirements of performance were put forward to the contact wire material. As the preferred material of the electrified high-speed railway, CuSn alloy has good tensile strength, conductivity, wear resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance, etc. In addition, compared with other contact wire materials in the actual production process, CuSn contact wire has great advantages in production process, cost control and yield, etc. which has the value of development and research.Based on the original manufacturing process of Taixing Shengda Copper Co., Ltd, this topic compared the performance of CuSn alloy by adding trace B and Re, the results showed that adding trace Re has better strengthening effect. So, we confirmed adding trace Re and process parameters adjusting as the optimization methods of CuSn alloy. We measured the tensile strength and conductivity of Cu-Sn and Cu-SnRe alloy, discussed the effects of trace Re in Cu Sn alloy contact wire on the performance. The research contents and conclusions are as follows :This paper researched the effects of trace Re in CuSn alloy on the metallographic and performance. The results showed that trace Re in copper alloy could eliminate the as-cast dentrite organization and refine the grain size, the tensile strength of Cu-Sn-Re alloy reached 176 MPa and the conductivity reached 85%IACS.Metallographic structure,tensile strength and conductivity were measured during the continuous extrusion in this paper. The results showed that after continuous extrusion forming, the as-cast structure was broken and then recrystallized, the tensile strength of Cu-Sn alloy was improved from 162 MPa to 255 MPa, the conductivity dropped from 76.21%IACS to 75.03%IACS。During the drawing process of Cu-Sn alloy, we discussed the effects of drawing passes on the performance. The results showed that the Cu-Sn contact wire drew by 4 passes has advantages in performance over the 3 passes.We discussed the the effects of trace Re in Cu-Sn alloy contact wire on performance. The results showed that after adding trace Re, the tensile strength of Cu-Sn-Re reached to 446 MPa, the conductivity reached to 84.5%IACS, which having improved significantly compared with the Cu-Cn contact wire. In addition, this could have reserve properties on the basis of TB/T 2809-2005,it afforded the experimental basis for standard promotion and provided technical support for train speed lifting of this type of contact wire.
