The Appication Of Splicing In The Fashion Design Of Environment-friendly Denim Apparel

Along with the high development of global economy and technology,textile and fashion industry has already expanded its application range,combined with the rising world population and public standards of consumption,which finally leads to a boosting demand for textile products.For fast fashion sweep over overwhelmingly,a large number of worn-out clothes were buried,burned and even continued to aggravate environmental pollutions.According to the professional statistics,15 percent of fabrics could be wasted on the production of one piece of garment.As a result of large population base in China,nearly at every year,all wasted clothes would account to quantity of ten million tons,apart from heavy environmental burden,again threatening natural ecological balance,at least it could spell unpredictable survival crisis.The application of splicing has early dated to ancient Egypt,ancient Greek and ancient Rome about thousands of years ago,splicing design as a type of expression in the clothing construction can meet people’s improving requirements,therefore,splicing has been widely applied in creation inspiration by fashion designers.Such a way of thinking can help designers combine available materials,style and different colors to present design creativity.This thesis mainly adopts the document-data method: research on the recovering status of worn-out clothes,development condition of environmental fashion design and related academic journal articles;date collecting,analysis and conclusion.In addition,case method would be applied to analyze the present practical design cases on redesign worn-out clothes home and abroad.From the point of ecological fashion design,this thesis explains types and ways of splicing in fashion design and also its applications in the environment-friendly denim apparel,besides more design cases would be further analyzed.The idea of splicing would be adopted over actual design process,final works will utilize the configuration technique of splicing to redesign,together with considering important elements in fashion design,such as color,fabric,style etc.In conclusion,this thesis aims to find solutions of old useless clothes by a new revived design strategy,through old clothes to link the memory of the past and the future among an existing emotional road of sustainable design.
