Precise hollow stainless steel balls are key components for the control devices of precise float ball,the deviation and surface roughness have a direct impact on the sealing effect of control equipments,and it has a very important position in the precision equipments and precision machines.Traditional grinding methods applied for hard materials solid sphere grinding can not be employed for batch grinding of light hollow stainless steel balls because of low pressure and low production efficiency,therefore,initiative-driven plane processing method for grinding processing of hollow stainless steel balls are proposed.In order to solve the hollow stainless steel ball to slip,resulting in uniform spherical grinding,low processing efficiency,poor machining accuracy when a little big load are applied on ordinary grinding equipments,initiative-driven plane processing method is proposed to make balls keeping forced state of motion all the time during grinding.The uniform grinding trajectory of the ball surface is achieved by adjusting the grinding plate speed and the wing velocity of cage.In the aspect of basic of theory,equations of motion and mechanics equations are created and kinetic characteristic and stress states of the ball are found through kinematics analysis and force analysisof the ball.The MATLAB software can be used for analyzing the relationship among parameters of motion equations.The ADAMS software can be used for establishing the dynamic model of balls during grinding,simulating grinding trajectory of ball surface,analyzing effects of grinding pressure,grinding speed and swing speed of the cage,etc.on distribution of grinding trace.In this type of grinding mode,the sphericity are researched and influencing factors for sphericity are to be analyzed.In the aspect of design,a set of active driving device based on single-sided grinding and polishing equipment is designed to adapt to grinding processing of the hollow stainless steel balls.In the aspect of experiment,taking ?50mm hollow stainless steel ball as the object of research.The grinding process parameters(grinding speed,abrasive concentration,swing's speed of cage)for process of hollow stainless steel ball are optimized through orthogonal experiment and main parameters of grinding processing are discussed to ascertain influence of sphericity and surface roughness of ball to get the best combination of process parameters.
