It is very necessary to choose the reasonable process parameters, so that the Computer Numerical Control(CNC) machine tools will have a better driving performance and the cutters will have a better cutting performance. However, the CNC program generated by the current commercial CAM software only has a single, conservative feed rate in a certain cutting area, this means that the manufacturing capiblity of the machine tool is not fully used. Therefore, it is necessary to study how to optimize the feed rate effectively, so that the machining efficiency and machining efficiency can be improved. This research propose a preliminary feedrate optimization algorithm based on feedback data of general machine tool to optimize the feedrate; Then, a multi constraint model is established for the feed rate upper limit value of rough machining and finish machining based on the metal cutting process, this model can ensure the machine tools and cutters without mechanical damage. In view of the problem that there is a mutation after preliminary optimization, a fine optimization principle is proposed to optimize the preliminary optimization results. In order to realize the commercialization of the feed rate optimization software, in the aspect of data collection, the software of data acquisition for FANUC NC machine tool is developed with MTConnect technology and Focas development kit, and data collection was carried out using the software; In the aspect of software, we choose Windows as the development platform, choose VS 2010 as the development environment, and using C++ and C# mixed programming. The optimization module is divided into several parts to be designed and implemented in details, those parts include the parsing of NC program and feedback data of the machine, the automatic matching of the feedback data and 3d figure and the NC program, and the operation of optimization. At last, effectiveness of this feedrate optimization method is demonstrated in processing experiments.
