Scientific Research On Porcelain From The Southern Dynasties To Sui And Tang Dynasty In Pubei,Guangxi

In this paper,Dilatometer,SEM-EDS and ceramic water absorption tester are used to analyze the fire temperature,chemical composition,micro-structure and water absorption for the Pubei ceramics during the early time period.By these scientific methods combining the literature and field investigation,this paper studied preliminarily the physical and chemical property,the craft and technology of making,the raw materials of porcelain from the Southern Dynasties to Sui and Tang dynasty in Pubei.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows,Firing temperature of the porcelain of Pubei is about 1200℃,water absorption is 7.51%~15.93%,thickness of glaze is between 200μm~500μm.The data we gain through this search will be a supplement for Chinese ceramics data base.The research result will enhance our understanding for Guangxi ceramics and provide certain scientific basis on Pubei ancient ceramics for future study.In the history of civilization,Chinese ceramic technology was leading and unique in the world for thousands of years.Famous kilns appeared in each Chinese dynasty,and theliterature on these famous kilns is very rich.However,these so-called famous kilns do not constitute the whole history of Chinese ceramics.A lot ofunknown kilns we don’t know their history with the time passing,only leaving the intriguing mystery.Today,with the development of science and national requirement for local culture research,scholars pay more attention to local ancient ceramics research.Though Pubei of Guangxi lies to China southern border,our field investigation indicates there is extremely rich archaeological sites there.The time has been lasting since the Southern Dynasties.Nowadays we still can see some traditional ceramics workshops and dragon kilns in Pubei.Unfortunately,there is no any research on Pubei’s ancient ceramics,which is inappropriate for such a richness and long history in ceramics in Pubei.In order to figure out the true history of Pubei ceramics,and better understand the technology of porcelain production of ancient Pubei people.This paper conducts the research on literature,field investigation and scientific analysis.In all aspects of research,the scientific analysis is the key and most important part in this paper.
