The alkylation reaction between high-concentration ethylene and benzene is one of the important methods for the synthesis of ethylbenzene.This process was jointly developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Dalian Institute of Physics and Chemistry,Fushun Petrochemical Company and China Huanqiu Engineering Company Liaoning Branch.The alkylation process of high-concentration ethylene applied the liquid-phase alkylation and liquid-phase transalkylation,both of which carried out in two separate reactors,and the reactors were packed with molecular sieve catalysts,and this process has many advantages in the production of ethylbenzene.This paper made certain introductions and comparisons among currently widespread use of ethylbenzene production process.And aiming at the high-concentration ethylene method for ethylbenzene production,process simulation software PRO/II has been made use of to carry out the process calculation and dynamic model analysis for the whole unit,on the basis of which the separation indexes and energy consumption were optimized and compared.The physical property equation Soace-Redichi-Kwong embeded in process simulation software PRO/II can accurately calculate the infromation such as vapor-liquid balance and stream physical properties,based on which the appropriate convergence method,split equation and calculation sequence of equipment can be selected and the process can be quickly converged.Comparing the process simulation results with the actual collected date,the results are consistent.
