Research On Risk Management Of Overseas EPC Contracting Project

With the transition of Planning Economy to Market Economy in China,restructured designing institutes expand to equipment manufacturing and installation to enhance their core competitiveness.The major production indices of domestic large-scale cement production lines are approaching the international advanced level,and some equipment manufacturing technology even reach or exceed international advanced level.However,in terms of the management level of EPC projects,there still exist large gaps between domestic large construction enterprises and those in developed countries.To narrow such gaps,this study aims to put forward risk management strategies for EPC projects.Specifically,this paper focus on risk management of EPC projects of Sinoma.Based on the analysis and study of current management modes of EPC projects,this study will dig out problems of international EPC projects in each phase to design specific,workable strategies.The detailed contents as follows:1)To analyze the traits and classifications of risks of international cement engineering EPC projects and elaborate that in multiple aspects,such as politics,economy,nature,society and technology.2)To identify the key solutions for project management of Sinoma’s international projects,including contract management,design management,procurement management and construction management.To conclude malpractice of international EPC projects from past experience.3)As the majority of Sinoma’s international EPC projects located in less developed areas(e.g.,Africa,Southeast Asia),the workable strategies will be significant for Sinoma to improve performance of EPC projects.To summary,the results of this study will be effective and efficient for improving the risk management level of international projects.Sequentially,it will promote the sustainable development of enterprises,and provide valuable reference to other similar enterprises.
