This paper focused on the formulation,curing system,processing techniques,compatibility,mechanical properties,and thermo-oxidative stability of EPDM/POE vulcanizates.We researched on vulcanizatess compatibility and formulation by adopting compatibility prediction,thermal compatibility analysis.DSC.DMA and TG analysis.Under peroxide-sulfur curing system,We studied the effects of additives on vulcanizates' mechanical properties and optimized the formulation.And we studied vulcanizates' rheological properties and optimized the mixing techniques by measuring vulcanizates' Hakke torque,carbon black dispersion degree and NMR-crosslink density.The compatibility research showed EPDM and POE are well compatible and more POE addition could improve the vulcanizates' tensile strength,tear strength,elongation at break modulus and thermo-oxidative resistance.Under peroxide-sulfur curing system,we found that the best amount of DCP?S?TAIC was 4.0phr.0.2phr?1.0phr respectively.Also,carbon black's amount and structure affected vulcanizates variably:the Payne effect of N660 was most remarkable,while the N220,N330 and N550 were moderate and they could be well dispersed in vulcanizates,the N550 and N574 were in critical state of Payne effect,considering all aspects we selected N330 and control the amount at 60phr.Hakke torque curves and measurement of carbon black dispersion degree and NMR-crosslink density indicated that optimal mixing temperature is 80? and optimal frequency was 60r/min,EPDM/POE vulcanizates prepared under this condition were homogeneous and well dispersed.
