For the iron and steel enterprises, especially for special steel enterprise, billet identification is an indispensable production process. With the continuous innovation of automation technology level in steel enterprise, artificial identification has been gradually replaced by automatic identification. Especially billet automatic identification, which can realize more flows, more types of steel on-line automatic identification, is being more and more popular. It not only can improve the efficiency, but also can effectively avoid the problem of unclear, falling off easily and personal safety etc. caused by artificial identification. On the basis of studying and comparison of existing equipment domestic and overseas, the purpose of this paper is to develop a set of multi-stream billet automatic identification control system. The major jobs of this paper are as follows:First, on the basis of preliminary understanding of billet marking equipment working principle, technical parameters and system structure, the identification method and system structure of marking equipment researched in this paper are determined; and further to analysis motion control theory, servo technology and laser displacement sensor theory etc.which related to the control system. And these will lay the foundation for designing the control system successfully.Second, Based on the basic principle of motion control technology, this control system completed G code program design of identification character based on the theory of path planning interpolation algorithm and accomplished the servo control parameter design and optimization, which aim to realize the motion control system to complete the desired trajectory rapidly , stably and continuously and reduce the motion impact and improve the efficiency of identification effectively, based on velocity control arithmetic and PID closed-loop control algorithm.Third, compared to different methods of realizing the motion control and combined with the practical application environment, the method of PLC cooperated with motion module to realize multi-axis motion control is defined. And based on these, the tasks including electrical schematic diagram design, control program design, HMI software design will be finished. Laser displacement sensor as measuring element, the paper will focus on the analysis of laser dynamic measurement error to ensure that the control system completes identification task rapidly, stably and accurately.Finally, this paper also accomplished control, system parameter optimization and error analysis. In order to ensure the control system has steady quick responsiveness, it's necessary to do automatic gain and frequency parameter adjustment for servo system to avoid causing resonance. At the same time to ensure control system accuracy, it also needs to optimize gain coefficient and time constant of control function to make the precision up to micron level.The test results show that: marking control system researched in this paper has the merits of stable operation, high degree of automation, rapid identification, identify results cleaning and long retention time, high control system precision. It meets the design requirements and industrial production demand.
