At present, the economic development of China has entered a new norm. But with the increasing demand for energy resources, the situation of environmental problems is still very serious, and largely restricting the economic development of China. So the task of energy conservation is imminent and arduous. Material production consumes a lot of energy, and its energy consumption accounts for more than 30% of the total energy consumption. The injection molding machine is one of the main machines of plastic products industry, and consumes a large amount of energy every year, and its energy consumption problem is particularly prominent.So it is urgent to optimize the injection molding machine. In the process of injection molding, plasticizing and injection are the main energy consumption stages, accounting for 70% of the total energy consumption.Therefore, this paper focuses on the above two processes, particularly Injection filling process. Specific research contents are as follows:Theoretical and experimental study on energy consumption of injection filling process. Starting from the basic theory, dividing the energy consumption of injection filling process into four parts: (1)the energy consumption of the friction force of solid particles, (2)the energy consumption of the melt viscoelastic resistance, (3)the energy consumption of the melt through the gate,(4) the energy consumption in the cavity. The energy consumption of the four parts is defined as the basic energy consumption of the injection filling process. Based on the rheology and fluid flow equation, the energy consumption of each part is modeled, and the theoretical expression of energy consumption of each part is deduced in detail. In addition, the experiments of energy consumption of the injection filling process are done, including orthogonal test of four parameters of injection pressure, injection time(speed), packing pressure and packing time and the single factor experiment of two parameters of injection pressure, injection time (speed).Three kinds of materials, polypropylene, polystyrene and poly (lactic acid), were selected to study the effect of rheological properties on the energy consumption.The energy consumption of plasticizing process research. Based on the analysis of the theory of plasticization and the balance of energy, the energy balance equation and the calculating formula for unit energy consumption which defined as the energy saving index are put forward.Taking the most widely used full hydraulic injection molding machine as the research object, this paper studies the effect of three plasticizing parameters(plasticizing speed, back pressure, the average temperature of barrel)on the plasticizing energy consumption.The theoretical and experimental results show that the theoretical model presented in this paper is more detailed and comprehensive consideration comparing with existing theoretical models. It takes into account the parameters of the machine, the material properties and the process parameters, and can provide guidance for energy consumption analysis, energy distribution analysis, injection molding machine efficiency evaluation and energy consumption prediction of injection molding machine. It can provide theoretical guidance for energy saving and consumption reduction of injection molding machine from the source .
