In recent years, the output of crude oil has increased fast, and the kinds of crude oils in the processing plants became complicated. The salts in crude oil cause the scale formation in the furnace and heat exchanger during the processing. Also, chlorine hydride and hydrogen sulfide, which are from the hydrolysis of chloride and sulfide, may cause the corrosion of the working equipment and poisoning of the catalysts.Distinctly, these will seriously influence the long-term stability of oil refining and production devices. Therefore,it is important to establish a simple, fast and accurate method to determine the chloride content in crude oil.In this thesis,we firstly carry out the research and application for the determination of the salt content in crude oil, based on the determination standard of the chloride content. Its applicability is further verified, and the comparative experiments are performed to test influential factors.More importantly, the detailed steps of operation are given;thus,a wide detection response is obtained, ranging from 0.3 to 10000mg/L.Secondly,the method to determine the chlorine in crude oil is discussed and the optimal test parameters are achieved with more accuracy, which will meet the requirement of the daily detection.Thirdly, the operation conditions of salt determination are optimized, where the heating temperature and the amount of sample injection are selected as 50? and 40 ?L,respectively.According to the sulfur content,we consider whether hydrogen peroxide is added to the sample.Additionally, the operation should be strictly done according to the test standard. Finally,we discuss the two methods, including the operating measurement, equipment maintenance and preventation of sample from pollution.
