Blast furnace slag fiber is a kind of fibrous material,which is mainly prepared by industrial blast furnace.At the same time the fluxes and modifying agent are added into melting furnace slag as raw material and through high temperature remelting(1400 ~ 1500 ?),the blast furnace slag fiber is produced by centrifugal force silk.Blast furnace slag fiber can be made into insulation products by adding the appropriate binder,molding,curing.Promoting the use of blast furnace slag fiber insulation products has a very important significance of resources conservation and environmental protection.In this paper,the production of blast furnace slag fiber and the preparation of pipe insulation shell are carried out based on the pilot test platform.The bulk density,mass moisture absorption rate and thermal conductivity of the pipe insulation shell are measured and analyzed by various methods.The best binder is selected from three adhesives used commonly in the laboratory in order to guide the preparation on pilot test.Gambit is used to establish the blast furnace slag wool pipe composite insulation structure model.In the FLUENT simulation software,the process of heat transfer of the pipe composite insulation structure has been numerical simulation in order to investigate the temperature field of pipe insulation under different temperatures and different external conditions.The results show that the suitable thickness of insulation layer of the pipe with 57 mm,216mm outside diameter are about 22 mm and38mm respectively.It is found that the shaped parts should be paid attention to the proper distance of branch pipe in the heat insulation construction,otherwise it would cause a lot of heat loss.The performance indexes of the self-made blast furnace slag fiber shell meet the requirements of pipe insulation,and also perform well in the simulation overhead pipe insulation,which belongs to the insulation material.Therefore,the application of blast furnace slag fiber to pipe insulation not only improve the construction site and the production site environmental problems,but also contribute to energy conservation.
