As a hinge joint in the mine,a mine hoist plays an important role in carrying and lifting for coal and staff members up and down pit mines.Therefore,there will be more requirements for the safety of hoists.A mine hoist in one of Tangshan,whose the spindle and drum,the keys to the mine hoist have been destroyed in varying degrees,there exists huge potential safety hazard for mining operations.So the new design of the key components of the hoist has become the most important work,which is important to ensure the safety of the staff and to ensure the safety of coal mining.Using the mine hoist in the 6th mine as an example,the spindle and drum have been examined with finite element analysis according to the original model,we have discovered that the mine hoist is liable to accident as a result of stiffness and strength deficiency of key components.For this reason,we redesigned the key parts of the mine hoist by analyzing actual conditions and original spindle structure.We determined the size of the diameter of the shaft and checked for the strength of the spindle in theory,we build three-dimension virtual model with Solid Works,we carried on the strength analysis on six kinds of normal work condition of the spindle through ANSYS Workbench.The result was that the spindle structure met the requirements for the stiffness and strength,it was in line with the result of theoretical calculations.The spindle owns the enough working life by analyzing its fatigue life.Then we designed the drum,by reference to the original drum model and related theoretical design,we determined the drum structure,and built three-dimension virtual model of the drum,we carried on the analysis of the drum with finite element analysis software,we chose the working condition in which a type of drum is maximum force,the strength was taken checking computations.The result was that the drum met the requirements for using.At last,we determined the optimized size of the key parts,the diameters of the spindle paragraphs increase by 40 mm,the diameter of the drum increases by 1mm.That meant the structures of the spindle and the drum met the requirements for actual production.
