As the global steel industry recovers, global steel production and demand continued to grow, as one of the main products of the steel industry, The strip has become an indispensable raw material for machinery manufacturing, aerospace, chemical industry and other industries.However, in the continuous casting, hot rolling cold rolling and other different production process stage, Due to raw materials, rolling equipment and processing technology and other reasons, There are a variety of defects on the surface of the strip, Pinhole is one of them, It not only restricts the application of advanced technololgy, but also hioders the further improvement of productivity, affecting the appearance of products, reduce product performance, a direct impact on the quality of steel plate. So the steet surface quality inspection and control has become a steel enterprises and scholars generally concemed about the issue.In this paper, Based on the analysis of the existing pinhole detection mcthod, a kind of strip pinhole detection device based on image sensor is designed. Ihe entire detection device is divided into two parts, including the sensor module and the detection processing module. The image sensor is used as a detection sensor,which can collect the image information of the strip surface, and output the effective image information by line scanning. The stm32 series of microprocessors is the core of the system in the detection processing module, It can read and write to the CMOS image sensor via the serial bus. In order to improve the detection speed of the whole system, the image information outputted by the image sensor is first accumulated in the CPLD, and the image information is merged into one line The microprocessor obtains the image information from the CPLD through the DMA transmission. This information is processed to find the pinhole feature information In the processor, the results is transmitted through the RS485 interface to the PLC, and through the Ethernet to achieve the computer on the sensor parameter configuraion, imege display and pin count counting function. While CPLD provides timing for CMOS image sensors.Finally, the experiment and debugging of the system are carried out. The experimental results show that the system can effectively detect the pinhole information and achieve the expected target.
