As the first grade equipment of the solid control system,drilling fluid shale shaker can remove most of the solid phase and provide conditions for other equipment of next level.The study on vibrating screen in the domestic and overseas is mainly focused on structural optimization and dynamic analysis etc.But the research on sieving process is little.The sieving process of the vibrating screen is very complex and the mesh parameters,amplitude,frequency and other factors will affect the sieving process,so the study on sieving process of drilling fluid shale shaker is indispensable.In this paper,using Herschel-Bulkley model of Fluent software,combined with the UDF and dynamic grid technique,the numerical calculation of drilling fluid flowing through the screen is done.The pressure distribution and velocity distribution are obtained and the resistance characteristics of drilling fluid flowing through the screen are studied.The influence on drilling fluid flowing through screen caused by amplitude and vibration frequency of screen is studied by changing the movement characteristics;the influence on drilling fluid flowing through screen caused by entrance velocity of drilling fluid is studied by changing the entrance velocity;the effect on the flow through the screen caused by mesh structure is studied based on the numerical calculation of drilling fluid flowing through screens with different structure.Considering drilling cuttings particles,the effect on drilling fluid flowing through screen caused by screen paste is studied.Material screening process simulation system is established based on EDEM software.For the linear vibrating screen,the numerical simulation of particles movement on the surface and through the screen is done.The effect on screening efficiency caused by the mesh shape is discussed.The influence on average velocity and screening efficiency of particles on the screen surface caused by the vibration parameters is analyzed.Based on EDEM calculation results,the location information of different particles on the cross-section is obtained after selecting several different cross-sections.The simulation of drilling fluid flowing through the cross-section is done and the influence on drilling fluid flow caused by particles and screen mesh is studied using FLUENT software.The research in this paper can guide the production process of drilling fluid shale shaker,and has the vital significance for design optimization of vibrating screen.
