The conveyor belt is the key component on a belt conveyor for conveying loose material or pieces of goods,and is also a traction member and a bearing member of a belt conveyor.The fabric conveyor belt is a typical representative of many types of conveyor belts and has been well applied in the field of material transportation.From the structure of the material itself,since the fabric conveyor belt is made of two different components of the fabric core(fiber reinforced material)layer and the polymer(base material),the fabric conveyor belt can be regarded as a special composite laminate structure.Due to the influence of polymer,fiber and process,the probability of defects in the conveyor belt is very great.The fabric conveyor belt structure is sensitive to the impact damage which is difficult to avoid in practical engineering.In recent years,a number of belt conveyor belts occurred tear and other forms of failure.The reasons related to the conveyor belt manufacturing,but also related to the impact of conveyor belt damage.For engineering and technical personnel,only to grasp the type and characteristics of damage and damage evolution on the basis of the fabric conveyor belt damage and failure to effectively prevent and control in the conveyor belt.Therefore,the characteristics of impact damage and mechanism are the main research objects of fabric conveyor belt,and the problems such as fracture,fatigue damage and impact damage of fabric conveyor belt belong to the category of composite material mechanics.In this paper,we study the impact damage mechanism and damage evolution law of the fabric conveyor belt under the framework of the mesomechanical analysis method and the viscoelasticity of the composite material.Through the ABAQUS finite element software platform subroutine interface UMAT,the damage failure criterion and the material evolution rule of the fabric conveyor belt are embedded in the finite element calculation program to obtain the damage of the fabric conveyor belt under the impact load.The prediction result and the relative accuracy of the test results is verified,and the accuracy of the calculation model is verified to simulate the impact response of the fabric conveyor belt.By comparing the impact energy of different impact energy on the damage of fabric conveyor belt,the greater the impact energy,the greater the depth of the pits at the impact point.The influence of the impact mass on the impact response and damage of the conveyor belt under the same impact energy was also analyzed.Under the same impact energy,the maximum contact force,the maximum impact object displacement,the maximum displacement at the impact point of the conveyor belt and the impact mass Size is independent,its value is mainly affected by the impact of energy;impact of the greater the quality of the impact of the longer duration,the higher the energy dissipation,the greater the damage area.
