Car wheel hub is an important component of auto parts,with the growth of China's auto parts industry,wheel hub industry grows up gradually.Wheel hub is referred to as the "foot" of the tire and much attention has been paid to its quality.With high material utilization,easy to realize mechanization and automation of the low pressure casting method is one of the main methods in production of aluminum alloy wheel hub.In aluminum alloy metallurgy quality control,this paper studies the main elements affecting the main mechanical properties of A356 aluminum alloy composition and its significance and regularity.Using full factorial experiment design method to determine the main component of the best content of Si,Mg,Mn that has a significant impact on the main mechanical properties of A356 aluminum alloy,and the mathematical models that are used to calculate the tensile strength,hardness and yield strength are established.This regularity has guiding significance for aluminum alloy metallurgy process and pointing out casting defects that due to the improper smelting and solutions and strict requirements of melting aluminum to ensure the quality of aluminium alloy smelting of metallurgy.In terms of aluminium alloy wheel low pressure casting process design,using Anycasting software analyses the low pressure casting processes for BY380 model and BY267 model of aluminum alloy wheel.The filling process in the original scheme of BY380 type wheel is smooth,no jet,splash phenomenon,which shows the filling pressure is appropriate and avoids slag defects;Wheel hub of the solidification process is notcompletely in line with the solidification sequence,at the top of the rim and the hub center of the disk appear porosity shrinkage.Through the adoption of changing mould structure and mould temperature,adjusting the method of cooling device and adding insulation devices,determining the final scheme of low pressure casting process.The optimized casting process is used in actual production,obtaining tensile samples and microstructure of wheel hub disk.The microstructure was studied using metallographic microscope,and their mechanical properties were analyzed through tensile test and hardness test,which confirms the feasibility of casting process.
