High speed cutting is the inevitable development trend of machining technology,The cutting tool plays an important role in high speed machining,which affects the knives' service life,and machining precision and efficiency.Edge preparation technology can help change the edge microstructure as well as the outline of the cutting tool,which helps guarantee cutter blade consistency,increase cutter serviceability to improve the tool life and cutting precision.Edge preparation technology is closely related to research the influence of different solid particles.The research and development about different sold particles and the ratio of sold particles can help improve the quality of the efficiency of edge preparation.In order to study the particle impact on cutting tool edge preparation,first this paper introduces how edge preparation works.Then I use ABAQUS and do a simulation of single abrasive particle that based on erosion wear theories,and the results show that the effects of single abrasive solid to the edge blade vary in force.Then I did more simulations about effects of solid particles to edge blade,after that I get some rules about continuous solids of energy,blade deformation,changes in the rate of abrasive,when multiple silicon carbide abrasive hit on blade,plastic deformation occurred in the edge of cutting tool,stress region grows,erosion depth becomes deeper,eventually makes edge preparation works.With the increasing amount of Al2O3,cutting tool edge preparation effect becomes more apparent.With the increase of particle velocity,the maximum stress value of cutting tool edge alsoincreased,the cutting tool edge deformation area also increased.With the increase of abrasive solids diameter increase,the greater the energy of abrasive particle has,erosion and erosion depth and volume increase.As the particle impact Angle increase,the greater the impact velocity component in vertical direction,the greater the energy has,the greater the effect on the impact of the blade,the deeper the erosion depth will be.Finally I did a experiment to prove the rules of solid particles to the edge blade,I use alicona to scan the edge blade of the cutter for the first time.The results show that the abrasive grain and the role of the cutting tool edge is a solid abrasive at a certain speed on the energy of the edge loss caused by the cutting tool edge material,the main factors that affect the edge preparation are: ratio of abrasive solids,velocity.I use particle size of 40,80 mesh and 80 purpose of abrasive,SiC and Al2O3,the ratio is 1:2,2:1,1:1,spindle speed from 800 ~ 1200 mm/min,the passivation time 15 min,30 min,45 min.Results show that the optimal portfolio: diameter 120,ratio of 1:2,the spindle speed is 1200 mm/min.In this paper,I did research about effects single particle and continuous particles to the edge blade,which provides a new way to edge preparation.
