Research On The Influence Of Planetary Motion Preparation On The Tool Edge Contour

High speed and high efficiency machining is the inevitable development direction of machining technology.The edge preparation process can improve the cutting tool life,improve the cutting performance and improve the quality of the machined surface by changing the profile,micro morphology and microstructure of the cutting edge.Therefore,the research on the edge preparation is the basis of high speed and high efficiency machining.The research on the edge preparation mechanism and the influence on the cutting process has the important meaning.Based on the drag finishing,the tool edge preparation process is simulated through the discrete element software EDEM,and the influence of the edge preparation time and velocity on the edge radius is revealed through the edge preparation experiment.Firstly,based on the characteristics of planetary motion passivation,the mathematical model of the motion locus of the planetary motion cutting tool is established through the coordinate transformation.On the basic of the basic principle of discrete element and the contact model of Hertz,the simulation model of the tool revolution preparation process,the primary and two stage planetary motion preparation process is set up through the discrete element software EDEM.Secondly,the influence of the edge preparation time,velocity and the abrasive size on the silicon carbide abrasive motion,the tangential cumulated energy,the normal cumulated energy and the wear is revealed.The influence of the different edge preparation style and the velocity on the wear is revealed.Finally,the carbide cemented milling tool is edge prepared through the drag finishing.The edge radius is detected by the scanning electron microscopy.The influence of the edge preparation time and velocity on the edge radius is revealed through the edge preparation experiment firstly in this paper.The research of the paper provides the basis for the revealing of the edge preparation principle and the realization of the edge preparation.The research of the paper also lays the basis for the high speed and high efficiency machining.
