The hard brittle material has the characteristics of high hardness,high melting point and brittleness.It is widely used in the mechanical field,but it has the disadvantage of machining difficulty.Special processing technology can solve the difficult problem of hard brittle materials,such as edm technology and arc machining technology.Arc machining technology has the advantages of high machining efficiency and extensive processing materials,but it has the disadvantage that the machining accuracy and efficiency are not proportional.As an auxiliary technology of composite processing technology,rotary ultrasonic technology and electromagnetic excitation modulation technology have been successfully applied in space technology,precision machining and biomedicine.According to the characteristics of the rotary ultrasonic technology and the characteristics of the electromagnetic excitation modulation,rotary ultrasonic technology is studied and the mechanism of electromagnetic excitation modulation effect on electric arc machining process,especially in the arc discharge channel,the material removal in,materials and deionization,etc.It is concluded that rotary ultrasonic technology is beneficial to the formation of arc discharge channel and improve the discharge gap of arc machining.Magnetic field induced by electromagnetic excitation modulation can improve the vibration and motion state of arc plasma.Therefore,arc machining technology combined with rotary ultrasonic technology and electromagnetic excitation modulation technology can improve the arc machining efficiency and machining accuracy.According to the characteristics of arc machining technology and the requirement of arc machining technology,an economical and practical electric arc machining machine is designed.The machine is mainly composed of machine tool table,rotary ultrasonic spindle,electromagnetic excitation modulation device,machine tool control cabinet and so on.The machine tool table adopts three-axis linkage,and the control cabinet adopts open CNC system control mode.A small hole experiment was carried out with the design of the machine tool.The results show that the hole roundness value is higher under ultrasonic vibration and electromagnetic excitation modulation.Therefore,it can be concluded that the ultrasonic technology and electromagnetic excitation modulation technology can improve the precision of arc machining workpieces.
