Liquid sulfur pipeline is a sort of jacketed pipe,which transports liquid sulfur from liquid sulfur pond in joint device to the liquid sulfur tank and sulfur solidification unit.It is a typical link connecting joint device and sulfur solidification unit and the main research object of this paper is the liquid sulfur pipeline in high sulfur natural gas processing factory.The safety evaluation methods of liquid sulfur conveying pipeline is established combined with the specific situation in China’s most representatively large high sour natural gas treatment plant,Puguang gas field natural gas treatment plant.In the meantime,common sites and reasons of liquid sulfur pipeline leakage is analyzed,and the liquid sulfur transport pipeline improvement scheme is put forward,which provides a scientific basis and theoretical reference of the safe and economic operation of liquid sulfur pipeline.First of all,this paper carries out an investigation on the safety operation situation of liquid sulfur transfer pipeline in domestic natural gas processing factory,and basically grasps the processing parameters and material in common liquid sulfur transporting equipment and pipeline system.Based on that,the leakage causes are analyzed in details and an explication of the calculation theory in jacket pipe stress analysis is provided aiming at characteristics of jacked type pipeline.Secondly,this paper studies the operation characteristics of liquid sulfur transporting pipeline in natural gas treatment plant,with which the overall jacketed pipeline stress analysis model is established with the innovative application of CEASAR II.The two models have been verified and corrected according to the field operation data,and a finite element evaluation method of safety operation state is ultimately generated for liquid sulfur conveying system.Finally,a set of improvement measures and suggestions are put forward with stress analysis and finite element model,aiming at the specific circumstances of liquid sulfur transporting pipeline.The feasibility of these is verified and the improving results are proved.
