Building A Color Management System Based On ICC.2

ICC.1 color management system has been implemented for many years in all walks of life,and has also got consistent praise from various industry practitioners.The specifications and architecture of ICC color management have also been continuously improved and innovated to address new requirement of image quality of people.However,some requirements have not yet been met,new problems are also emerging,such as the fixed D50 colorimetry,the inability to support spectral data,etc.The root of these problems is the defect of implementation of the ICC.1 color management system and the related architecture.The International Color Consortium launched a new version of ICC.2,also known as iccMax in 2016,to solve the defects of ICC.1 version.By analyzing the current and old profile versions,there is added a few more functions,like the spectral linking space SPCS for processing spectral data and fixed light source problems,the material connecting space MCS for solving the material characteristics,and the bidirectional reflectance function BRDF for maintaining the color consistency in various directions.For the purpose of building the color management based on ICC.2 specification,the key point is to integrate these new function into existing color management,which have mentioned above.According to research and learn ICC.1 color management system and intensive study ICC.2 specification,this paper has built six color management subsystems which are compliant with the ICC.2 standard,has verified its theoretical feasibility.This paper have implemented the two modules of the system:(1)Generating a profile that conforms to ICC.2 standard;(2)Successful reading of ICC.2 Profile;To make the content of ICC.2 Profile more intuitive,there has designed a reading,editing and saving software based on the ICC.2 profile,which edit a profile as users willing.
