The rationality and correctness of the settings of relay protection is an important guarantee for the stable operation of the power plant and even the whole electric power system.In the calculation of the settings,not only need to consider the power system structure,a variety of protected equipment,different protection equipment types,and need to be considered in each of the settings between sensitivity and time limit,so we need a lot of human resources.This paper aim at the problem that the protected equipment and the time span of the protection equipment is large,the lack of the settings computing personnel and so on,designed a relay protection setting software for the plant,research and solve the encountered in the process.First we research on the domestic and foreign existing relay protection setting software research,understand the forefront of the domestic and foreign means of relay protection setting software development.On this basis,in order to ensure the scalability and compatibility of software,we design and adopt the modular programming.Base on the fault calculation method of power grid is studied,write the electrical sequence network system and node optimization program,and then the short circuit simulation module could run on it.The paper research on the method of setting calculation and the method of expert system is used to complete the calculation process.On the basis of the study,the method of expressing the knowledge base is upgraded,and the forward and backward mixed reasoning method is used to improve the efficiency of the solution.In the modular design,the module design of the system is build,which is the interface interaction module,the short circuit simulation module,the setting calculation module and the parameter storage module.In the design of the interface interaction module,the interface is friendly and simple.At the same time,we use graphic elements as design principles to design the power equipment of the system class,and research the algorithm of network topology.At last,the calculation results of the software are compared with the existing setting and good results are obtained.
