Wind power and photovoltaic is the focus of the development of clean energy in China,which has a certain proportion in the power structure of China.However,wind and solar energy resources are random,intermittent and unstable,the power system has special requirements for this kind of power supply.Conventional power system has a large number of inductive load,which requires the clean energy access power system is configured with reactive power compensation devices,to provide qualified electrical energy to the grid.Currently with the gradual expansion of wind power and photovoltaic grid scale,and power electronic technology rapid development,and new types of reactive power compensation devices are also emerging,the design of clean energy reactive power compensation is paid more and more attention by all parties.Firstly,this paper on clean energy projects reactive power compensation device from principle,performance characteristics and types are analyzed,and in the understanding of clean energy projects to the requirement of the configuration of reactive power compensation,on the calculation method of reactive power compensation device capacity to conduct t he research,and summed up the practical calculation method.Finally,the selection principle of reactive power compensation device is given,including type selection,equipment layout and engineering practical matters needing attention.In this paper,the design and selection of the reactive power compensation device for the grid connected wind power,photovoltaic and other clean energy projects have a certain guiding role.
