Objective: To observe the Shenfu Injection effect on tissue perfusion at the earlystage of severe sepsis or septic shock. Methods:41patients with severe sepsis or septicshock were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group (n=20) and controlgroup.(n=21). According to the2008severe sepsis and septic shock treatment guidelines, the routine therapys, including anti-infection, fluid resuscitation, correction of acidosis, vasopressor agents, were given to all patients.100ml Shenfu Injection was given to thetreatment group after fluid resuscitation application. Central venous oxygen saturation(ScvO2), urine volume, lactic acid (Lac), oxygen (DO2), oxygen consumption (VO2),and oxygen uptake rate (O2ER%) were recorded and compared between two groups afterthe application of shenfu injection for6hours.Results:comparing with the control group, the urine volume, ScvO2,and Lac, hadbeen improved in the treatment group which was given shenfu injection,(P<0.05). whilein the aspect of DO2, VO2, O2ER%, no significant difference was showed between the twogroups. Conclusion: Shenfu injection maybe improve the tissue perfusion in patientswithsevere sepsis and septic shock at the early stage of the disease, but the effect on thesystemic oxygen metabolism is still unknown.
