Objects:To investigate the status of glycemic control among type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients in LePing community and its influencing factors, so as to provide evidence for further improving the condition of blood glucose control and diabetic complication. Methods:We selected 1000 T2 DM outpatients with LePing household registration during March 2012 to March 2013. Indexes of HbA1 c, FBG, 2hPG were detected and a questionnaire were investigated including gender, age, BMI, DM duration, education level, economic income, BG monitoring conditions, complications or concomitant diseases, treatment modality and so on. All of these patients data were managed by specially trained professional persons. Results:Finally, 1000 T2 DM outpatients were enrolled in this study, 515 were males and 485 were females. The mean age of the study participants was 59.29 ± 12.17 years. All the subjects were divided into four groups according to the diabetes duration, <2 years, 2~5 years, 5~10 years, >10 years. All the groups are with uncontrolled hyperglycemia. eligible rate. The rate in patients with blood glucose meter was significantly higher than that of patients with no blood glucose meter(34.04% vs 28.87%,P < 0.05). The rate of the oral antidiabetic agents group was significantly higher than the insulin combined with oral antidiabetic agents group(35.28% vs 32.44%,P < 0.05). The rate of the insulin combined with oral antidiabetic agents group was significantly higher than insulin group(32.44% vs 23.04%,P < 0.05). The rate of group taking 1 or 2 kind of antidiabetic agents was significantly higher than the group taking 3 kinds of antidiabetic agents(P < 0.05). The rate was significantly higher in the higher cultural level and better economic condition patient groups. Conclusions:The glycemic control situation of T2 DM patients is not optimistic In Leping City. Glycemic control may be associated with the duration, whether patient has a blood glucose meter, concomitant diseases, treatment, education level, economic status related. The diabetes prevention education and publicity should be further strengthened.
