ObjectiveTaking the practicing doctors in a hospital in Guangzhou as the object of investigation, carry out the present situation by using interviewing method and questionnaire survey, to understand their occupational stress and job satisfaction and discuss the related influencing factors and their influencing degree.Methods1. Literature research:to research the literature of occupational stress and job satisfaction at home and abroad in recent 10 years;2. Questionnaire survey:using the combination of short and long scales of The Minnesota international general satisfaction questionnaire (MSQ) and The Occupational Stress Scale (OSI-R) to carry a cross-sectional study of the occupational stress and job satisfaction of doctors in a hospital in Guangzhou;3. Interviewing method:to understand the current stage of their occupational stress and job satisfaction factors by using semi open and open interview among the doctors;4.Statistical analysis:to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire and analyse the results of the questionnaire descriptively and statistically.Results1. The practicing doctors are generally dissatisfied with the work and have the occupational stress of varying degrees. The differences of different gender, age, household registration, marriage status, working age, preparation, academic qualifications, the job satisfaction and occupational tension of the hospital doctors are obviously and statistically significant, P<0.05.2. Male practicing doctors'job satisfaction is higher than female doctors; Age under 30 years and over 50 years have the highest degree of physician satisfaction while the age between 31 to 40 years of age has the lowest; Married doctors is higher than the unmarried doctors; The formal establishment is higher than the informal; Over 20 years of work have the highest degree while doctors between 6 to 10 years have the lowest; The degree of job satisfaction of doctors is the highest while the junior college degree is the lowest; Junior professional titles of the doctors have the highest satisfaction while senior title of the doctors have the lowest.3.Male practicing doctors'job occupational stress is higher than female doctors; Age over 50 years have the highest degree of physician occupational stress while age under 30 years have the lowest; Married doctors is higher than the unmarried doctors; The formal establishment is higher than the informal; Years of work between 6 to 10 have the highest degree while over 20 years have the lowest; The degree of job occupational stress of doctors is the highest while the junior college degree is the lowest; Junior professional titles of the doctors have the highest occupational stress while senior title of the doctors have the lowest.ConclusionThe degree of job satisfaction of doctors is low while the degree of occupational stress is high and there were significant differences among different groups; The degree of job satisfaction and occupational stress directly influences the working status and the working efficiency of doctors. We should mobilize the enthusiasm of practitioners and improve their job satisfaction and the quality of medical service, so as to improve the patient satisfaction to ensure the sustainable development of hospitals and medicine by improving the hospital organization and management, the salary level of doctors and the supervision and security mechanism, and strengthening the construction of hospital culture.
