Objective:This research was to explore the correlation between the clinical indicators of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and the constitution of traditional Chinese medicine, then study from the angle of the constitution of traditional Chinese medicine, analyze the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases acute exacerbation, guide the clinical treatment based on syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine and constitution regulation for patients in stable phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in order to reduce acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and improve the patients’ quality of life, delay the progression and improve prognosis. Methods:First collect medical records of hospitalized chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with acute exacerbation in shandong province hospital pulmonary disease family ward from July 2014 to July 2015. Second, collect patients’ age, sex, body mass index and other personal information, onset seasons, course of the disease, complications, mMRC score, CAT scores, constitution and other relevant information. At last analyze these information with statistical methods, summarize the relevant laws between the related indicators of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations and TCM constitution. Results:Patients with qi deficiency constitution 39 cases, phlegm dampness constitution 32 cases, Yin deficiency constitution were 15 cases, damp heat constitution 14 cases, 80.7% of the total. Age is concentrated in the 60-80, accounting for 72.0%. Among the patients, male 69.5%, female 30.5%, smokers accounted for 51.7%. Body mass index of 22.15 + /- 4.41 kg/m2, duration 5.99 + /- 6.001 years, 56.0% acute exacerbations during fall and winter, more prevalent in phlegm turbidity resistance pulmonary disease syndrome(25.4%), phlegm heat indicates lung(23.7%), lung and kidney Yin deficiency(21.2%).Conclusion: Middle-aged men and smokers with COPD are easy to exacerbate during fall and winter. Patients with qi deficiency constitution, phlegm dampness constitution, Yin deficiency constitution, damp heat constitution are common, body mass index of phlegm dampness and blood stasis constitution is higher. Differences between sex, age, course of diseases, seasons with different constitutions have no statistical significance. COPD patients with acute exacerbation of different constitution types have different TCM syndromes.
