In recent years, the experts have put forward the new ideas of "energy medicine" to promote the development between the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, which highlights the essentiality of developing the point of energy about Traditional Chinese Medicine.Based on Huangdi’s Classic on Medicine, the author collects relevant arguments extensively, analyzes and summaries up the regularities about the point of energy in Huangdi’s Classic on Medicine, discusses the energy characteristics of lung, and proposes that lung energy circulation can be divided into 3 steps:lung energy starts in the stomach, the lung is the main body of the energy, lung energy vents in fur.By consulting a large number of medical books, summing up the etiology and pathogenesis of cough which were proposed of the skilled doctors, the author puts forward the new ideas: defensive qi energy transporting and discharging of dereliction of duty, stomach energy transporting and decline of dereliction of duty, lung pulmonary energy dispersing and decline of dereliction of duty. Based on this viewpoint, the author puts forward new therapeutic methods from the “defensive qi”、“stomach”and “lung” and points out the advantage of using the energy of pulmonary characteristics of guiding the treatment of the disease. At last, through the analysis of clinical data in recent years which many physicians scholars use Chinese medicine to treat the diseases of Western Medicine related to “Cough” in Traditional Chinese Medicine, reflects the feasibility of using the energy point about pulmonary characteristics to guide the treatment of the Cough disease.
