Clinical Research Of Tongfuhuatan Formula In Treating Stroke-associated Pneumonia Of Heat-phlegm And Sthenic-fu Type

Objective: Study on the clinical effect of tongfuhuatan formula in the treatment of stroke associated pneumonia.Methods: A total of 60 patients involved in this study were divided into 2 groups, the control group and the treatment group. The control group accepted the Western medicine standardized treatment, and the treatment group accepted the tongfuhuatan formula in addition to the standardized treatment. After the clinical trials,we observed and analyzed the results including the total efficiency,TCM syndrome evaluation, CPIS score,inflammatory markers(WBC count,Procalcitonin and the Creactive protein level).Results: As the results showed, the treatment group had a better efficiency than the control group(90% vs. 86.67%, p<0.05). Comparison between the two groups was statistically significant, indicating that using Tongfuhuatan formula on the basis of can improve clinical total efficiency. The combined treatment was better than the standardized treatment in improving the TCM syndrome evaluation. Comparison between the two groups was statistically significant. Comparison between groups after treatment of the individual symptom showed that the treatment group had a obviously efficiency than the control group in constipation,abdomen distension(p<0.01). The treatment group was better than the control group in improving cough,color and quality of phlegm,respiratory rate,furred tongue and pulse. The treatment group was better than the control group in reduceing CPIS score.Two groups’ inflammatory index all decreased largely after the treatment, and the difference between them was not significant. All of the 60 patients had received the entire therapeutic process, no of whom were rejected in this study. Blood routine test, Urine Routine Test, Stool routine, Hepatic-renal function,Conclusions: The tongfuhuatan formula combined Western medicine standardized treatment had a better advantage in improving total efficiency and relieving clinical symptom than the single Western medicine standardized treatment in treating stroke-associated pneumonia. In addition,the qingjinhuatan formula had a high safety.
