Objective: This study is anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker of different mass ratios were added to self-curing soft liner material and examined its mechanical properties and water solubility.How the anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker of different mass ratios affected the mechanical properties and water solubility of soft denture lining material,and the results were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy,providing a theoretical basis for the application of soft liner materials clinically.Methods: Anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker in accordance with the mass ratio of 0%,1%,2%,3%,4%,5%,respectively,were added to the self-curing soft liner material,no adding to anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker group was the control group,the other groups were in the experimental group,and then mixed the two materials thoroughly shaken.(1)Shear bond strength: In experiments,anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers of different mass ratios were produced test pieces,with dimensions of 50 mm × 10 mm × 3 mm,divided into six groups of 10 specimens,a total of 60 specimens.(2)Shore hardness: In experiments,anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers of different mass ratios were produced test pieces,with dimensions of 30 mm × 10 mm × 3 mm,divided into six groups of 10 specimens,a total of60 specimens.(3)Tensile strength: In experiments,anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers of different mass ratios were produced test pieces,with dimensions of 30 mm × 10 mm × 3mm,divided into six groups of 10 specimens,a total of 60 specimens.(4)Water absorption and dissolution rate: In experiments,anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers of different mass ratios were produced test pieces,with diameter 50 mm and thick 1mm,divided into six groups of 10 specimens,a total of 60 specimens.With each of the different mass radios is required to detect three mechanical testing,for shear bond strength,shore hardness and tensile strength,and water-soluble detection.Standard test pieces,which is according to different requirements were made,after fully cured,test pieces were placed in sterile artificial saliva save.Detected with universal material testing machine for its shear bondstrength,tensile strength testing,to observe changes in shear bond strength and tensile strength.With a shore A hardness detected shore hardness,to observe changes in shore hardness.Detected 7 days,28 days and dissolution rate of water absorption,anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers of different mass ratio added to self-curing soft liner material detected the degree of dispersion by scanning electron microscope.the mechanical properties of the numerical value of six groups of test results from a test piece in different qualities is compared with a water soluble and of six groups of test results from a test piece in different qualities,to find out the best dosage,and to provide a theoretical basis for the use of soft liner materials clinically.Results: 1.According to test results analysis,the amount of anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker had an effect on shear bond strength of soft liner materials,tensile strength and Shore hardness.With anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers added amount increasing,shear bond strength values and tensile strength values of soft lining material showed a decrease after the first increase.The mass ratio of the whisker was 3%,the shear bond strength and tensile strength values reached their peak,with the added amount of anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers increasing,shore hardness of soft liner materials continued to rise.In addition to 1% of anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers group,between2% anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers group and other groups shear bond strength difference was not statistically significant,the rest between the two groups differences were significant(P <0.05);in addition to 1% of anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers and control groups Shore hardness difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),the rest between the two groups differences were significant(P<0.05).In addition to the tensile strength values at 1% of anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers group,2% anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker tensile strength groups,there was no significant difference compared with control group of the tensile strength(P> 0.05),the rest between any two groups the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).2.In this experiment,anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker of different mass ratios added to the self-curing soft liner material,scanning electron microscopy analysis of the r-esults shows that,anhydrous calcium sulfate whisker mass ratio is 0% to 2% when the whisker content is less sparse distribution,in the whisker mass ratio of 3%,the uniformly dispersed without agglomeration,When continuing with the whisker content increased to4%,the visible whiskers dispersed more intensive,resulting in agglomeration,When the whisker content at 5% pronounced more agglomeration.Visible whisker content exceeded a certain range,whiskers soft lining material dispersed worse,more serious agglomeration.3.As time increases,the same group of self-curing soft liner materials for water absorption and dissolution rate in artificial saliva increased.At the same time water absorption and dissolution rate of each group compared with the control group was not statistically significant.Conclusion: When the added amount of anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers was 3%,the effect of enhancing the mechanical properties and water-soluble of self-curing soft liner material were the best,and distributed evenly,without agglomeration phenomenon,therefore the added amount was known as the best.Experiments showed that anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers of certain mass ratio improved the physical and chemical properties of self-curing soft liner materials.It provided a theoretical basis and experimental basis for the application of self-curing soft liner clinically.
