| ObjectiveMusashi-1 is an RNA-binding protein that molecular is 39 KD.Stem cell marker Msi1 has since been found in several cancers. The expression of Msi1 shows high degree of malignant tumor, and is correlated to a poor prognosis. The objective of this study was to identify the adult stem cell marker Msi1 is expressed in ovary cancer. For the clinical diagnosis and treatment provide the basis. Methods85 cases of ovary cancer tissues and 20 cases of benign ovarian tissues were obtained from Shanghai First People’s Hospital Department from the year 1999 to 2014.These tissues was from operation. Expression of Msi1 was detected by immunohistochemistry. Result (1) The staining of Msi1 in ovary cancer tissues were 20 of 85(23%) negative, 47 of 85(55%) weak positive, 9 of 85(11%) moderately positive and 9 of 85(11%) strongly positive.(2) The staining of MSI1 in benign ovarian tissues were 9 of 20(45%) negative, 10 of 20(50%) week positive, 1 of 20(5%) moderately positive.ConclusionIn ovarian tissues, tumors with high levels of Msi1 expression tended to have high levels of grade. The expression is statistical significance. Msi1 may be a useful marker for ovarian cancer. |
