Objective: Tic disorders(TD)is pediatric neurological development mental disease, which is with drug therapy mainly. Now to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of clonidine transdermal patch in the treatment of childhood tic disorders(TD) by a meta analysis, which also provides evidence-based basis for clinical treatment of tic disorders in children. Methods: The main database retrieval at home and abroad, such as foreign Pubmd, Embase, the Cochrane library, EBSCO, OVID database, domestic Chinese biomedical literature database, VIP science and technology periodical database, a database of ten thousand, China hownet, screening study clonidine transdermal patch for the treatment of tic disorders in children controlled clinical trials, retrieval time from January 1980 to January 2016, and manual retrieval related published literatures.By two researchers independent literature after screening, data extraction and methodological quality evaluation, using Revman 5.3 software to Meta analysis, binary classification variables to calculate the OR value of merger and 95% CI value, continuous variable MD value and 95% CI value calculation. Results: A total of five articles were included in the standard, including 1 article in English and Chinese. 4, were randomized controlled study, in a total of 1002 cases(treatment group 609 cases, control group, 393 cases), the object of study 5 ~18 years old.Meta analysis results showed that total heterogeneity inspection results shown I2 = 4.8%, P =0.31, that the research has the homogeneity, merged statistics are calculated by use of a fixed effect model. In the end of follow-up clonidine transdermal patch compared with control group, the twitch symptoms improve the total number of cases of difference was statistically significant(OR=1.93,95%CI:1.44~2.58,P<0.05).Subgroup analysis, compared with other TD oral drug resistance, twitch symptoms improve the total number of cases of difference was statistically significant(OR =1.69, 95% CI: 1.15 ~2.49, P=0.07).Compared with placebo, twitch symptoms improve the total number of cases have obvious statistical significance difference(OR =2.30, 95% CI: 1.48 ~3.57, P <0.05).Compared with haloperidol, twitch symptoms improve the total number of cases of difference was statistically significant(OR=2.23, 95% CI: 1.42 ~3.50, P<0.05), and a voice to twitch and motility twitch total score difference also was statistically significant(MD=21.71,95%CI: 20.42 ~23.01, P <0.05).Therefore, clonidine transdermal patch group compared with the clinical curative effect of haloperidol group difference was statistically significant.Clonidine transdermal patch compared with control group, the total number of cases of adverse reactions was statistically significant difference(OR =0.33, 95% CI: 0.20 ~0.53, P<0.05).Conclusion: To sum up, clonidine transdermal patch on the clinical curative effect than traditional TD drugs and placebo, incidence of adverse reactions to small; And clonidine transdermal patch small dosage, good security, children with high adherence, convenient for clinical use, but because of this research include literature, less sample size is not enough, have the risk of the corresponding bias needs to be more sample size controlled clinical trials to test clonidine transdermal patch on the clinical efficacy and safety.
