The Effect Of Cadaveric Donor Age On The Outcome Of Kidney Transplantation

Objective: To analyze the donor age effect on the outcome of renal transplantation.Methods: Retrospective study the postoperative recovery and complications of 76 patients accepted DBD(donation after brain death) and DCD(donation after cardiac death) kidney transplantation. According to the donor age, those patients will be divided into three group including 30 to 40 years group(group A), 40 to 50 years group(group B), 50 to 60 years group(group C) respectively.Results: The operations of all recipients were successful. The serum creatinine(Scr)of recipients(group A) on the first day, the third day and the seventh day after operation were 655.5±292.2umol/L, 321.1±291.2umol/L, 204.0±216.4umol/L respectively. The Scr of recipients(group B) on the first day, the third day and the seventh day after operation were 829.5±347.1umol/L, 516.4±436.8umol/L,251.4±257.0umol/L respectively. The Scr of recipients(group C) on the first day, the third day and the seventh day after operation were 739.9±254.6umol/L,432.3±304.7umol/L, 278.3±267.7umol/L respectively. There were no significant differences in Scr between the groups(P>0.05). The incidence of delayed graft function(DGF) in group A, B and C were respectively 11.1%, 23.1%, 31.6%. There were no significant differences in DGF between the groups(P>0.05). Donors sex ratio,Scr, warm and cold ischemia time and recipients sex ratio, age, preoperative dialysis time and typing, preoperative Scr and blood urea nitrogen(BUN), tissue-matching shows a good balance. On the first day, the third day and the seventh day after operation of Scr level, the incidence of DGF and 1 years survival rate of human/kidney group differences were no statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion: 76 cases kidney transplantation from DBD and DCD, with the increase of donor age(<60 years), have no difference in the incidence of DGF, renal function recovery and 1 years survival rate of human/kidney. Therefore, donor age(<60 years) had no obvious effect on the outcome of kidney transplantation, those renal can safely use through careful evaluation.
