An Investigation On The Reaveled Status Of Medical Personnel Occupational Sharp Instrument Injuries At Two AAA Hospitals In Urumqi City

Objective: to learn the revealed current status of some medical personnel's injury with occupational sharp instruments in some hospitals in Urumqi city and analyze its reasons and influencing factors and to provide substantial supports for establishment and improvement of sharp occupational instruments injury protection policy and system.Methods: medical personnel from four wards at 2 tertiary hospitals of Department of general surgery,gynecology,internal medicine,Department of radiotherapy in Urumqi city have been chosen as the research subjects and gathered 397 valid questionnaires.The Medical staff's way of life,clinical work,blood pathogens,personal protective exposure,sharp injury risk factors,and occupational revealed situations compiled as a questionnaire to investigating and analyzing.Results: 1.The medical personnel's total revealed number exposure is 281(70.8%)in nearly a year,among which nurses in sharp injury exposure is the first which is 79.8%;The occurrences of sharp instrument injury are concentrated in1-5 times;Doctors,technicians and nurses' sharp injury whether exposure and exposure times difference has statistical significance(P < 0.001).2.The occupational exposure related training content differences among doctors,technicians and nurses were statistically significant(P < 0.05).Nearly in a year,the gaining of antitumor drug use and training times of protection methods and getting occupational exposure emergency drill numbers of the medical staff are concentrated in less than or equal to 2 times,among which nurses' occupational exposure related training times are the highest,accounted for73.9% to 80.2%.3.Among male staff doctors,the incidence of sharp instrument injury number is higher than the females and the shorter the length of service,the lower the degree and educational level,the more sharp injury times ha has(P < 0.05).4.Thecomparison of medical personnel's different dimensional exposed factors on health: except from lifestyle,other factors on the health of medical personnel are affected,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).5.Multivariate analysis shows there are many factors affecting the risk factors of sharp injuries.Conclusion : The harm of different medical personnel injuries in nurses accounted for a higher proportion,the nurses of sharp injuries occurred most frequently.The number of male doctor occurrence of sharp instrument injury number is higher than the female and the female medical sharp instrument injury number is higher than the male.Female nurse sharp injuries number is higher than that of the male.In addition,the shorter length of service and the professional title is low.Non operation department injuries occur more frequently.Education,occupation,section categories,blood borne pathogens and personal protective exposure are the influence factors of the risk factors of sharp injuries.Sharp instrument injury occupational exposure of medical personnel health and medical personnel accept various kinds of professional exposure and they are lack of training.They do not have timely access to protection information,resulting in the weak consciousness.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen training and improve the understanding of the weak links,improve the awareness of occupational safety,formulate practical and feasible emergency measures and protection strategy,and effectively prevent the occurrence of occupational exposure,guarantee the medical staff's safety.
