Objective: According to the statistical analysis on occupational health examination results of workers exposed to benzene in a large petrochemical company,to understand the effects of long term low concentration benzene exposure on the health status of workers; To further explore the early sensitive indicators of the health damage of workers exposed to long-term low concentration benzene exposure,so as to provide theoretical basis for strengthening the health monitoring of workers exposed to benzene and improving the existing protective measures. Methods: Make an investigation on occupation hygiene field of a large petrochemical enterprise production equipment and laboratory analysis of benzene benzene, monitoring the concentration of benzene in the air of workplace;307 workers exposed to benzene in long-term low concentration were selected as contact group,314 workers exposed to benzene in the same company selected as contral group,After the occupational health examination, compare and analyse the difference between the two groups based on the results, especially the long-term low concentration effect of benzene exposure on workers' white blood cell count, neutrophil count, red blood cell count, platelet count, hemoglobin content, liver function,B-scan ultrasonography,ECG and chest X-ray examination results. Results: The benzene concentration in the air of the position of the research object is lower than that of the national occupational exposure limit. The decreased rate of white blood cell and neutrophil in the workers exposed group were higher than non-benezen group(P<0.01),the difference was statistically significant. The incidence of white blood cell count, neutrophil count, red blood cell count, and platelet count decreased in comparison with the gender, the difference was not statistically significant. There is an upward trend with the increase of the rate of age white blood cell count, the contact group of workers exposed to neutrophil count, platelet count, hemoglobin decreased, which decreased white blood cell count was evident(trend?2=4.105,P<0.05),had time effect relationship.Hemogram, liver function, electrocardiogram, abdominal ultrasound, chest X-ray and other indicators of different positions of workers in exposure group and abnormal rate compared to no significant difference;the abnormal rate of each index of exposure group and control group of liver function, electrocardiogram, abdominal ultrasound, chest X-ray and compared the difference was statistically significant(P>0.05);The concentration of benzene, sex, and length of service were the risk factors of white blood cell, and the length of exposure to benzene was the main factor affecting the white blood cell count. Conclusion: Long-term low concentration exposured of benzene has a certain impact on workers' white blood cell count and neutrophils,White blood cell count and neutrophil count is a sensitive index to monitor the effect of benzene on early occupational health. The company should further strengthen the health monitoring of workers exposed to low concentration benzene and continue to improve the protection facilities.
