BackgroundKinesio taping is one of the most widely accepted techniques in soft tissue taping, which has a considerable effect on the injury of soft tissues.Meanwhile, joint mobilization technology is essential and elementary technology of the modern rehabilitation medicine, and an effective way to treat chronic low back pain as it is of value for low back pain muscles, fascia and joints using correcting and adjusting techniques, while as far as clinical efficacy of maintenance and follow-up methods were concerned,it still need further scientific studies. The combination of Kinesio taping and joint mobilization can provide a new idea for non-specific low back pain and it is valuable for further application and study.ObjectiveOur goal is to discuss the effection and clinical curative effect of Kinesio taping combined with joint mobilization technology in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic non-specific low back pain.At the same time, the possible mechanism of action is also explored in order to provide some evidence for clinical treatment and follow-up research.MethodElderly patients with nonspecific low back pain were randomly divided into observation group(using Kinesio Taping with joint mobilization as well as conventional modalities,18 cases)and control group(using only conventional modalities,13 cases).Back flexion and extension muscle peak torque(PT),visual analogue scale(VAS)and Oswestry Pain & Disability Questionnaire(OPDQ)were assessed before and after intervention.Result1.At baseline there were no significant difference between two groups;2.After 1 week of treatment,PT was significantly higher in the observation group than that of control group(P <0.05).3.The differences of VAS and OPDQ were statistically significant after one week of treatment compared with the control group(P <0.01).4.There was a significant negative correlation between the degree of pain and the peak torque of flexion and extension(P <0.01).ConclusionKT with JM may be more favorable in improving symptoms and dysfunctions in elderly patients with nonspecific low back pain.
