Investigation And Supervision Countermeasures Of The Private Medical Institutions In Qinhuai District Of Nanjing

Objective Analyze the current status of private medical institutions and compare them with the public hospitals in Qinhuai District of Nanjing.It would be the basic data for the government to make decision and regulations which would accelerate the development of the private medical institutions during the market competition.Method The status of private medical institutions in Qinhuai District of Nanjing was collected by questionnaire investigation.The data included general status(such as structure of staff,scale,bed,equipment,income of hospital)and business status(such as total number of patient,number of hospitalized patient,number of discharged patient,etc.we tried to understand their view on existing problems and development strategies through in-depth interviews with health administrative personnel and presidents of private medical institutes.All data were input with EpiData and Excel.SPSS version 18.0 software was used for data analysis.Results There are 166 private medical institutions and 118 public hospitals in Qinhuai District of Nanjing.All these private medical institutions have 2588 medical staff and 52.16 million gross value of medical equipment.There were 1003.4 thousand medical treatments and 3400 inpatients in 2016.Compared with public hospitals,the number of the doctors,masters and senior technician of private hospitals in Changchun city is smaller.The number of the hospital beds and medical treatments is far less than public hospitals.And most of medical buildings of private hospitals are rented.The average value of medical equipment of private hospital is only about 37%of the public hospitals and government financial assistance for private hospital is also smaller than public hospitals.At the same time,there were several problems on the private medical institutions,such as lack of self-discipline and integrity,unfair policies,weak internal management and weak government regulation.Conclusion The private medical institutions have developed to some degree and provide varieties of medical services for citizens at different levels in Qinhuai District of Nanjing.But there are still gaps between private and public hospitals in terms of scale and service qualities.The problem of private medical institutions is mainly coming from the institutions as well as the policy.It is high time to take substantial actions accordingly to overcome these problems.The key for long-term healthy development of private medical institutions is the management of integrity,self-discipline and establishing a brand image.It is also necessary to createspecial projects,provide quality services,improve the management level,prevent the talents.draining and execute effective regulatory.The governments also should provide financial and political support to promote the development ofprivate medical institutions.
